Laka Wood CO2 (tanarius major, also called dalbergia parviflora) is a precious and very rare aromatic extract derived from the elusive Laka tree, a species revered for its unique properties and deep-rooted significance in certain indigenous cultures. This exceptional oil is celebrated for its richly nuanced, a warm captivating velvety blend of sweet refined woods that recall some good agarwoods, a unique milky-creamy note, subtle floral undertones, and trace of earthiness with far smokiness that evokes both mystery and serenity. Its scent is profoundly grounding and sensually enveloping, making it a prized note in high-end perfumery and holistic wellness practices.

We are now presenting the rare Laka Wood CO2 from Myanmar, Birmania, so supercritical extraction; an extra rare natural oil at the moment only available on OdorArt.

The peculiarity of this oil is the beautiful red-purple color and its unique highly pleasable olfactory characteristics that can remember the complex woodiness of some high-grade ouds, together with an interesting sweet milky note, increasingly distinguishable in its evolution, which also includes creamy traits of sandalwood and subtle hints of cinnamon spice with some sweet smoke, in a very elegant way.

The Laka tree itself is an extraordinary botanical specimen, found only in select, often protected regions, where it grows in harmony with pristine natural ecosystems. Its limited availability and slow growth contribute to the oil’s rarity and high value. Traditionally, Laka wood has been used in spiritual rituals and artisanal crafts, a testament to its revered status in local cultures.

In ancient China and Southeast Asia, Lakawood was burned as incense during spiritual rituals, believed to summon divine presences and purify spaces.
Sustainable harvesting practices for the rare laka wood extraction are crucial to preserve this valuable resource, ensuring that the extraction does not compromise the ecological balance of its native habitats.
