In nature there is an incredible material, considerated the rarest and more expensive on earth, rarer than gold and diamond too; if the agarwood is the prince of naturals, kynam is the king. It is formed in extremely nature conditions and after mutations of the heartwood of old agarwood tree, in the regions of Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia or Hainan Island.
Kynam/Kyara (in this case green) is considerated the most precious natural material in the earth. The green kynam is second in rarity only to white kynam, considerated the most precious material on the earth. Green Kynam oil profile is incredibly complex and multi layered, different from every high grade ouds. It needs time for understand the misterious and very complex kynam smell; from a fresher opening to a delicate darker and earthy drydown; a multidimensional soft texture sweet and bitter, for an unique stuff that now you can have in your hands (in a limited way).
It all starts with the Aquilaria trees, which, when stressed or infected by fungi or bacteria, produces resin, but only a very tiny percentage of that, after numerous rare mutations, can create kynam/kyara, generating the kynam resin oil inside the wood fibers, with a more yellow-ish color similar in appearance to a semi wax or honey, different from high grade agarwood that is more a solid and dark resin, not tendent in a wet wax.
Not every Aquilaria tree can produce kynam, even under ideal circumstances. The tree genetics, its environment, particular nature conditions, the stress its endured, the weather variations, presence of specific microorganisms and tree mechanisms reactions—all of these factors have to align perfectly for generate all the unique aromatic compounds of kynam, that agarwood haven't.
A theory was that, a part the perfect nature conditions needed, any extremely special species of fungus infecting the tree and changing its genetic expressions relating to plant defense, causing secretion of that special/unique compounds, forming kynam/kyara.
This incredible rare green kynam steam distilled oil is from the Fushan mountain, in the region of Qingdao, China.
Compounds found in normal agarwoods can be found to be present in kynam such as agarofuran, eudesmol, agarospirol, jinkoh-eremol, kusunol etc, but kynam/kyara contains much more unique aromatic compounds that have not been fully identified and characterised, and that make kynam oil that different in odor and a unique rarity to have. For someone, an intere lifetime may not be enough to have in hand and smell a real kynam oil, so treat it with care.
